Okay, I've supported him. I like his politics (most of them. Not his support for civil unions instead of marriage for gay couples). But...is it wrong for me to now have a crush on him?
This morning in one of the NY rags -- not sure if it was the News or the Post -- there was a picture of him giving his wife a "fist bump," and the angle of the picture just caught the side of her face from behind and him looking right at her. Something about the look made me think I now have a crush. Kind of pathetic, but true.

Blue
I was going to be creative and funny with Blue. But I am out of steam, and have been feeling blue for some reason today (combination of going back to work, the end of color week, of course, and PMS). So I am going to upload some pictures of our new living room -- with the porcelain blue rug and blue benches we can pull out to use as a coffee table. And maybe a picture of Kai in blue -- he looks so good in blue. And then eat a No Pudge brownie or two or maybe three and then call it a night.

Pink
I found pink to be a hard color, I think because I don't particularly like it. I don't like hot pink, and I don't like soft pink generally. There have been a few pink & chocolate brown things that I think look nice, but again, not generally my color.
Anyway, here's what I've got...
My favorite new discovery -- No Pudge Brownie mix. I think it tastes great, and I undercook them slightly (as I do with anything I bake), which makes them even more moist. The best part is that I can make a single serving at a time, or two servings at a time, or the whole pan. Whatever I please. Since I have trouble monitoring my portions, the single serving option has been a blessing. If you haven't tried them -- and like brownies -- try it. All you have to do is add no-fat vanilla yogurt (or plain yogurt with a dash of vanilla extract) and cook. The single serving you microwave for 1 minute (or, in my case, 45-50 seconds).
Pretty pink flowers that our neighbor potted.
A marketing banner for Prospect Park bandshell. It has GREAT summer activities and concerts. You can pay a minimal price to be near the bandshell, or just listen from nearby. The summer we went to Italy, Prince played!
Pink flowers at the farmer's market today. It should be no surprise to any of you that these flowers were still there at the end of the day. They need some TLC.
Marketing banner for Rose Month at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. "where plants come to life."
Okay, so there is no visible pink in this picture of he meadow at Prospect Park. But on our family walk in the park today (after we had sandwiches for lunch and before we went to Blue Marble Ice Cream and checked out NY Explorers -- which had an AWESOME space for kids!), Deuce, Derek, Kai and I saw at least 23 men wearing pink or pink striped shirts in the park. We saw a woman riding a pink bike, a couple hot pink purses, and I saw a lady who annoyed me for some reason, but she did absolutely nothing to me, wearing pink tennis shoes. There was lots of pink, especially on the men. I felt bad snapping shots of random strangers, especially because aside from the pink, none were really note worthy, so I just took a general shot of the meadow.

White
My nephew taking a bath after getting his face painted like a pirate (hence the leftover black eye). "Good clean white fun," as someone alluded to as we approached white day!!:)
Our new white wine rack. Needs wine. I just put it together (yes, "I" -- not "we") yesterday.
Our new white table with the perfect cushions to tie in both our dining room and new living room (pictures on blue day), which really are all the same room.
New! In our neighborhood! Blue Marble Ice Cream -- sharing space (including outdoor space that looks beautiful) with NY Explorers (for kids). Genius! Grand Opening Saturday. Here is the store front and the flyer. It should be quite clear what I intend to do on Saturday. I just have to decide if I want to wait for the end of the day to indulge, or be one of the first 100 customers to get free ice cream...
Cheryl's for brunch. Kai and I went today. One of my favorite places -- and it is always too crowded on weekends and closed on Monday so today was the last day we could go before I go back to work. No one else could join us, so it was just Kai and me. He smiled and gazed at the woman next to us, then talked to me and smiled while I ate my pancakes until I got to the last one, at which time he cried as if to say I really didn't need the last one, and then we walked. Good times.
Walls are white, table are white, menu is white. I love the picture of the elephant on the wall.
My version of a perfect day isn't a cloudless day, but one that just has pretty WHITE (not gray) clouds in the sky. Like today.
One of the photos I have framed of me and Derek at our wedding, after our first dance. He dipped me, then "showed" me to the crowd and kissed my hand after we danced to "Come Rain or Come Shine," by Ray Charles. We did quite the fox trot!
Who said firetrucks were all red. Here's a white one. At my sister's wedding. She didn't get married at the firehouse. I have a family full of firemen, and one of my uncles brought it over to her wedding since he was on duty that night.
I love this picture of my sister and dad at her wedding -- with the umbrella to shade her from the sun and the random strangers laughing in the background.
When I realized I was wearing my favorite white sweatshirt -- a hoodie that zips up, and zips down from the bottom, but never unzips all the way so you have to pull it over your head -- I took an iPhoto picture of me and Kai.
And finally, a black and WHITE photo of my dear dog Deucey, who is the opposite of white.

Sea Monkeys
Orange
My sister says that I always say "orange" right. I don't know how to phonetically show the way I say it versus the way it should, according to her, be said. To be honest, I can't even really hear the difference when she points it out. But it might have something to do with the "g." Next time any of you speak with me, take note if I say "orange" and it sounds funny to you.
Orange = construction + improvements + repairs + baby toys. And as of today, pretty retro cars.
Play mat.
The [i just forgot the name of the animal....water horse? horse lion? i totally can't remember...] are orange-ish. If anyone knows the name of this animal, please tell me. Sea lion? I completely can't bring it to mind.
New marketing signs on every street light on Washington, a major street 1 block from my house that runs up to the Brooklyn Museum.
Cool car that has been parked in our neighborhood the past few days. Ironically, I heard someone getting into their pimped out Escalade say about this car, "I bet it is a gas guzzler..."
Kai likes the string ball better than the smiley face man. He gets very excited when he grips the ball and has hit his face on more than one occasion. Sometimes this causes a pout, sometimes a smile. He keeps us guessing.
New Condos going in on Washington on a block that needs renovation projects like this. However, I am not a fan of the "Life Deserved" marketing slogan. As a lawyer who approves this marketing slogans, I would have found some way to kill it. Even though my job isn't to be the creative mind....still...
Construction tape marking off repairs on a sidewalk a couple blocks from our house. Right after I snapped the picture, a kid did the limbo under the tape. I missed the truly good shot.

Red
I've got lots of red....
Little Miss Muffin & Her Stuffin -- sign. You can't get a better muffin.
New Pizza Shop (with really good salads, too! Including a strawberry, walnut & goat cheese salad). Red lights.
Graffiti near our house, on the side of Bubbleworks, a drycleaner/laundry.
Emergency call box. We have them all over our neighborhood. Do they work? Don't know.
Butter the day we got home from Italy in July 2006. He was so happy. This is also my screen saver.
Butter & Deuce playing. This was one of the last pictures we took of Butter. Later this night or the next, Butter & Deuce played tug-a-way for the first time in Butter's life. He lived a good life, right up until the end.
My feet. I was doing ankle and toe exercises to keep the swelling down (I had NO clue what "swelling" was until after I had Kai, when my ankles, feet, and calves swelled up from the edidural and other fluids). Derek thought it was cute that I could sort of spread my toes out.
One of the first pictures of Kai, with a white & red hat the hospital made the babies for Valentine's day weekend. His lips were also really red. I can't believe how tiny he was....6 pounds, 12 ounces.
